Synopsis

In Universal Century 0079, humanity inhabits orbital colonies called Sides. One faction proclaims itself the Principality of Zeon and initiates a war against the Earth Federation, which governs Earth. Zeon gains an early advantage by deploying powerful humanoid combat machines called mobile suits. Nine months into the conflict, the Earth Federation unveils its own advanced mobile suit, the Gundam. When Zeon attacks the colony sheltering that prototype, a 15-year-old civilian, Amuro Ray, is unexpectedly drawn into the fighting. His involvement propels him into a prolonged struggle spanning Earth and space and brings him into direct confrontation with Zeon’s skilled ace pilot, Char Aznable.
