Synopsis

In a future where Earth's population pushes much of humanity into massive orbital colonies called Sides, social stratification fuels unrest. In Universal Century 0079 one colony cluster proclaims independence as the Principality of Zeon and wages war on the Earth Federation. Outmatched in resources, Zeon levels the battlefield by deploying towering humanoid combat machines known as mobile suits. Among Zeon’s most feared pilots is a masked, enigmatic ace nicknamed the "Red Comet." During operations near the colony Side 7, Zeon forces encounter a Federation prototype mobile suit, prompting a fierce assault. The prototype’s developer’s son, Amuro Ray, finds himself at the controls and repels the attack, setting him on a trajectory that pits him directly against the masked ace and forces his escape aboard a Federation vessel. The series follows the escalating conflict, the human cost of warfare, and the intertwined fates of its young pilot and his formidable rival.
