Centuries after a devastating conflict between Earth and its orbital colonies, the planet is governed by four powerful economic blocs while Gjallarhorn, a military institution, enforces order. Mars relies economically on Earth, and many Martian residents endure harsh conditions. Disturbed by this, Kudelia Aina Bernstein, a young aristocrat from Chryse, joins the movement for Martian autonomy and arranges passage to Earth to negotiate with the bloc controlling her region. She secures protection from Chryse Guard Security (CGS), and the Third Army Division—made up largely of young fighters including Mikazuki Augus and Orga Itsuka—is assigned to escort her. When Gjallarhorn mounts an operation against CGS to eliminate this political threat, Orga and his comrades must stop the attackers. The assault by Gjallarhorn may inadvertently thrust these children into determining their own fate.
