Uta Sakura, a spirited middle school girl with a passion for singing, meets Purirun, a peach-resembling fairy seeking the Legendary Protectors known as Idol Precure. Purirun explains that her sparkling homeland, KirakiLand, has been overtaken by darkness under Darkine, leader of the Chokkiri Gang. Determined to help, Uta joins Purirun’s quest to find upbeat, happy-hearted people who can become Precure and restore light to KirakiLand. When the Chokkiri Gang surfaces in Uta’s hometown of Hanamichi Town and drains the townspeople of their sparkles, Uta uses her singing to push back the gloom and is entrusted with the ability to transform into Cure Idol to confront the threat.
