Synopsis

A 37-year-old office employee, resigned to a repetitive life and without romantic success, is attacked on the street and fatally wounded. As he slips away, an inexplicable voice issues commands he cannot interpret. He awakens in a different world as a formless slime and discovers unusual powers, including the ability to absorb matter and replicate forms and skills. While exploring, he finds a cataclysmic-level dragon sealed for centuries after razing a town. Moved by the dragon’s confinement, he befriends it and vows to help break the seal; the dragon in turn gives him a new name that offers divine protection. Freed from his former routine, he adopts this new identity and sets out on a fresh path, learning to use his gelatinous body and unintentionally influencing the wider world as he grows.
