Two recap specials were broadcast ahead of select episodes during the Owarimonogatari second season. The first, labeled Episode 0.5 and shown before "Mayoi Hell," featured Hiroshi Kamiya, the voice of Araragi, narrating and summarizing sequences from prior arcs including Koyomi Vamp, Mayoi Maimai, Shinobu Time, Yotsugi Doll, Koyomi Nothing and Koyomi Dead. The second, marked Episode 4.5 and aired before "Ougi Dark," presented Yui Horie, the voice of Hanekawa, reflecting on Araragi’s experiences over the previous year and reviewing what transpired for him across the series. Both recaps condense past developments and character moments to prepare viewers for the upcoming episodes without introducing new plot events.
