With warfare briefly subsided and Edo in recovery, Gintoki encounters Shinpachi—who does not yet know Gintoki has returned—on a bridge. When a conflict erupts between the Yorozuya and the Tenshouin Naraku, doubts about identities force Gintoki to conceal himself using the only available item, a loincloth. Temporarily safe, he retreats to the Yorozuya office, unaware that another presence already awaits him there. At the same time, Kondou leaves Earth to wed Princess Bubbles as part of a diplomatic effort. Boarding the Gorilla Amanto flagship, he finds he cannot communicate with their species. His attempts at conversation lead unexpectedly to their backing, but the ceremony is interrupted when an associate of the princess appears and disrupts the proceedings. The story follows whether the marriage continues or Kondou avoids becoming the Gorilla Amanto’s new royal consort.
