Synopsis

After the Altana Liberation Army pulls back from the Kabuki District, the immediate crisis appears to ease, but danger persists. As the Oniwaban, the Shinsengumi, and local citizens confront lingering enemy forces, Edo’s foremost inventor, Gengai Hiraga, is taken captive. Gengai had neutralized the invaders by disabling their armaments with a nanomachine virus, and his capture jeopardizes the continued shutdown of that technology. At the same time, a planetary-scale laser aboard the Liberation Army’s mothership has come online in Earth orbit. The Kiheitai, led by Shinsuke Takasugi, mount an assault on the vessel to prevent the weapon’s activation. With battles unfolding both in Edo and in orbit, the Yorozuya and their allies must fight simultaneously on two fronts to protect the city and avert global catastrophe.
