Synopsis

Following a successful defense against the Aftokrator invasion, the Border Defense Agency readies a mission into the Neighbor dimension, but selection favors only A-rank teams. As B-rank competitions intensify, Osamu Mikumo and his Tamakoma-2 colleagues push upward in rank to secure a place on the upcoming operation. At the same time, a Neighbor vessel draws near Border Headquarters and directs attacks toward the Border Expedition Ship, prompting rapid deployment of defenders. With many squads tied up in ongoing rank conflicts, Border's response is strained and organizational confusion spreads. The Neighbor offensive casts doubt over the expedition ship's safety and the mission's prospects, while Tamakoma-2 races against time to achieve promotion and ensure their inclusion.
