Synopsis

Kraft Lawrence, a merchant on the road, and Holo, a wolf deity in human form, accept an invitation to dine with Norah Arendt, a young shepherdess who aided them in concealing bullion. Holo's prejudice toward Norah—rooted in the shepherdess's trade and her familiarity with Lawrence—casts a chill over the meal. Later, overtiredness brings on a sickness in Holo, prompting Lawrence to tend to her with concern and attentiveness. As Holo recovers, she quietly recalls episodes from their travels together, revisiting the bond and experiences that tie them to one another.
