Synopsis

For almost a thousand years, a magical curtain created by demons isolated people from the outside world. With that barrier finally gone, multiple kingdoms organize exploratory and diplomatic missions to reestablish contact with the lands that were previously unreachable. In that context, the young sorceress Lina Inverse is contacted by a mysterious woman, Filia ul Copt, who seeks to employ Lina and her companions for an assignment that will lead them beyond the former barrier. Filia, wary of unknown dangers, subjects them to a public trial against a dragon in the city to gauge their capabilities. Having demonstrated their prowess, Lina and her allies depart for the newly accessible territories, where they will encounter numerous adventures and confront a troubling prophecy that hangs over their journey.
