Synopsis

Shinya Kougami travels through the Southeast Asian Union to stay beyond the Sibyl System’s reach. While moving through the Tibet-Himalayan Alliance Kingdom, he crosses paths with Guillermo Garcia, leader of a paramilitary contingent aiming to unify local factions and stabilize the conflict-ridden state. Kougami refuses to enlist but accepts a ride to the regional capital from one of Garcia’s fighters. His effort to remain detached collapses when a refugee bus is ambushed by guerrillas, and Kougami single-handedly subdues the attackers. Among the refugees is Tenzing Wangchuck, a girl of mixed Japanese and Tibetan heritage whose family was killed by a warlord. Impressed by Kougami’s combat ability, she asks him to teach her how to fight so she can seek retribution. Kougami hesitates, aware that taking a life changes a person irreversibly, yet he is confronted by the girl’s longing for vengeance that reflects the same dark emptiness he carries. The story follows whether he will take on the role of her instructor despite his reluctance.
