Synopsis

Three and a half decades after Lynn Minmay helped end conflict between humans and the Zentradi, life continues aboard a migrating space colony seeking a new home. Nekki Basara, frontman and guitarist for the band Fire Bomber, lives in an underdeveloped district of City 7. He writes and performs music convinced that song can influence people’s inner lives. When an unfamiliar alien force begins assaulting the colony, its assaults take an unusual form: rather than outright destruction, they drain a vital life force called spiritia, leaving victims apathetic and mechanically obedient. Amid these attacks, Basara repeatedly ventures into active combat zones, singing in the hope that his performances will reach both allies and enemies and stir something within them.
