Synopsis

In 2040 the galaxy hosts thriving colonies and highly developed technology, including near-perfect artificial intelligences. The leading virtual performer is Sharon Apple, an almost-complete humanoid idol whose public persona lacks genuine emotion; those feelings are provided by Myung Fang Lone. Sharon's first major performance takes place on the colony planet Eden, coinciding with an aerial conflict over control of the Supernova Project involving fighter pilots Isamu Dyson and Guld Bowman. Isamu, Guld and Myung share a history as childhood companions whose paths split after a catastrophic incident seven years earlier. Myung's return rekindles old grievances between them, and the situation intensifies when an unstable, illicit AI method is integrated into Sharon, escalating personal and technological stakes while testing the bonds among the three former friends.
