Synopsis

In an alien-occupied, futuristic Edo, Gintoki and his Yorozuya associates Shinpachi and Kagura survive by taking on assorted odd jobs. They generally avoid high-risk matters, but the brutal assault and disappearance of Katsura, a rebel leader and longtime contact of Gintoki, prompts Shinpachi and Kagura to investigate who attacked him and where he went. Separately, Gintoki is hired by a blacksmith named Tetsuya to retrieve a stolen, unusually potent blade called Benizakura. As the two lines of inquiry converge, the trio uncovers a widespread plot tied to the sword's dangerous nature. Determined to confront those responsible, Gintoki organizes a direct assault on the enemy's stronghold, joining forces with unexpected allies for one of their most hazardous assignments yet.
