Synopsis

After drifting apart from their Digimon partners at the start of junior high, Taichi Yagami is unexpectedly summoned back to the Digital World by a distress signal. There he discovers that Digimon are living under the shadow of a mysterious ruler known as the Digimon Emperor, whose actions are inhibiting their ability to Digivolve. Meanwhile in the real world, Hikari Yagami and Takeru Takaishi find themselves reunited in the same fifth-grade class alongside three classmates: Daisuke Motomiya, whose manner recalls Taichi; Miyako Inoue, adept with technology; and her neighbor Iori Hida. When Daisuke, Miyako, and Iori receive D-3 Digivices, they join Hikari and Takeru—who still have their original devices—to form a new set of Chosen Children. Tasked with confronting the Digimon Emperor, this group must use the Armored Digi-Eggs to prevent his spread of control across the Digital World and restore the Digimon’s capacity to evolve.
