Synopsis

Joe Shimamura appears outwardly ordinary but is actually Cyborg 009, part of a group of nine altered individuals who use their engineered abilities to combat injustice. Each member possesses a distinct capability—ranging from melting solids to breathing underwater and flying—installed when they were forcibly converted by the Neo-Black Ghosts organization to serve that group's aims. Rejecting the role meant for them, Joe and his fellow cyborgs formed an alliance to resist their creators and confront malevolent forces, choosing to apply their enhancements in service of protecting others rather than the interests that produced them.
