Synopsis

Set thirty years after the original Youkai Watch events, this story recalls a boy, Keita Amano, who once used a special wristwatch to interact with and befriend Youkai, accomplishing many deeds. As he grew older, his link to the Youkai faded, and the watch—whose power could upset the human-Youkai balance—was removed from the world, sinking into legend. Years later, a new crisis emerges: a spreading Youkai-related infection called Onimaro manipulates people toward malicious intent, transforming them into Kaodeka Oni and unleashing disorder across the city. With society on the brink, only those chosen by a newly appeared Youkai Watch can confront the menace and strive to avert destruction for both humans and Youkai.
