Synopsis

When an unknown spacecraft collides with Earth, humanity discovers it is not alone and sets aside divisions to form a unified United Nations force. They convert the alien vessel into a military flagship called SDF-1 Macross. On its first mission, an armada of Zentradi ships appears, and the Macross autonomously fires on the attackers, igniting a war beyond Earth. Attempting to reach the Moon for safety, the ship and the city aboard are unexpectedly transported into deep space. Among those caught up in the catastrophe are Hikaru Ichijou, a free-spirited stunt pilot, and Minmay Lynn, a young woman pursuing a singing career. Together with the Macross crew they endure a prolonged, emotionally charged voyage marked by loss, conflict, and the harsh realities of interstellar warfare.
