Synopsis

Set one year prior to the Zentraedi presence on Earth, this story follows ace pilot Shin Kudo amid the declining war between U.N. Spacy forces and anti-U.N. insurgents. After his aircraft is brought down by a new fighter fielded by the opposition, Shin is stranded on the secluded Mayan island, where modern technology is scarce and daily life is simple. While he remains on the island to convalesce, the island's calm is broken when combat erupts involving the U.N.'s latest fighter model, the VF-0, drawing Shin back into the larger conflict and exposing the clash between advanced military hardware and the island's quiet existence.
