Synopsis

Rintarou Okabe, an unconventional researcher driven by an unending curiosity, runs the Future Gadget Laboratory with his cheerful friend Mayuri Shiina and skilled hacker roommate Itaru Hashida. Their projects mostly yield odd inventions, the most notable being a microwave that inexplicably transforms bananas into green goo. After attending a time travel conference, Okabe encounters anomalous occurrences that suggest the microwave can transmit text messages backward through time. As he investigates this ability, his experiments draw the attention and hostile scrutiny of a shadowy organization called SERN. The discovery puts Okabe and his companions in ongoing peril; he must confront the repercussions his experiments inflict on the timeline while striving to protect those close to him and maintain his own fragile grip on reality.
