At Central Tanegashima High School, the Robotics Research Club has long pursued completion of GunPro1, a large humanoid machine conceived by past members. Akiho Senomiya is determined to bring that unfinished project to fruition, but the club faces practical obstacles, notably insufficient funding and limited manpower. The sole remaining teammate, Kaito Yashio, spends his time on handheld mecha fighting games rather than aiding Akiho. One day Kaito intercepts a garbled transmission and traces it to Airi Yukifune, an artificial intelligence that exists only within the augmented-reality interface of his PokeCom device. As Kaito investigates Airi’s records, he uncovers a strange dossier whose contents indicate potential calamity ahead. The story follows Kaito’s efforts to understand the AI’s message and the implications of the disturbing report for the near future.
