Synopsis

After advancing from the qualifying round, the Kitauji High School concert band focuses on preparing for the Kansai regional contest. During their summer break they attend a training camp led by their advisor, Noboru Taki, and several professional musicians who teach and guide them. Kumiko Oumae and her peers aim to secure a gold award at Kansai, but tension emerges when a former member who quit expresses interest in returning, bringing up difficult memories for the second-year students. Kumiko also uncovers unexpected details about her teacher’s history and the reasons he pushes the ensemble toward success. As the group works toward nationals, they face demanding practice and challenges that probe each student’s dedication to the band.
