Synopsis

A new mid-length animated film debuting in theaters in summer 2023 follows the Kitauji High School brass band as they prepare for the ensemble competition known as Ancon, held alongside the summer brass band contest. Unlike solo contests, ensemble events showcase the distinctive appeal of group performances. To advance to the Kyoto prefectural Ancon, each school must pick a representative ensemble through internal preliminaries. With a membership exceeding fifty, Kitauji's band confronts numerous difficulties. Kumiko, recently appointed as the club's leader, must navigate these challenges to get the team through the preliminary round. The story focuses on the ensuing period of effort and perseverance as the club members work toward their goal.
