Synopsis

Four years after a high-profile project, Musashino Animation—nicknamed Musani—has declined into financial and creative hardship, its staff largely dispersed following the abrupt termination of an ambitious film. Aoi Miyamori, a producer whose optimism ebbs but does not break, refuses to accept the studio’s downturn. An opportunity appears in the form of SIVA, an original feature with a ten-month deadline that could alter Musani’s fortunes. Around Aoi, colleagues contend with their own career struggles: animation supervisor Ema Yasuhara faces an exhausting schedule; reporter and voice actress Shizuka Sakaki is frustrated by scarce acting work; writer Midori Imai wrestles with a loss of inspiration after a setback; and 3D artist Misa Toudou worries that her intense dedication may be detrimental. Against an industry marked by instability and setbacks, the five women resolve to endure the difficult journey ahead as they aim to reclaim their studio’s relevance and move closer to a common aspiration.
