Synopsis

Kazuya Kinoshita, a 20-year-old college student, suddenly finds himself alone after his upbeat girlfriend, Mami Nanami, ends their relationship. Struggling with heartbreak, he turns to an online rental-girlfriend service and is matched with Chizuru Mizuhara, whose attractive appearance and gentle manner quickly win his trust. Later, after reading others' accounts, Kazuya suspects Chizuru's warmth is merely performance and rates her poorly; she responds by exposing a sharper, short-tempered side. Their tense interaction is interrupted when Kazuya learns his grandmother has collapsed. At the hospital, his grandmother is fine but surprised to see Chizuru, prompting Kazuya to impulsively claim they are a couple and require her to continue the role. As Kazuya remains emotionally entangled with his ex, the two must navigate the uneasy dynamics of a pretend relationship between a conflicted client and an unwilling rental partner.
