Synopsis

Takashi Natsume possesses sight that reveals youkai hidden from ordinary people. To protect his relatives and friends, he conceals this ability while quietly helping benevolent spirits by restoring their true names using a mysterious ledger he inherited from his late grandmother, Reiko. Though his actions are gentle and compassionate toward youkai, members of the Matoba exorcist family seek to recruit him for his rare talent. Natsume refuses, unwilling to align with exorcists who indiscriminately bind or seal spirits, even as some peers like Shuuichi Natori demonstrate restraint and understanding. Pressured by Seiji Matoba into attending a major gathering of powerful exorcist households, Natsume encounters perilous individuals and dangerous youkai. Despite the threats around him, he maintains his conviction that coexistence and mutual respect between humans and youkai can be achieved, continuing to act with empathy rather than force.
