Synopsis

When a midday solar eclipse halts life across the countryside, many believe the event grants ordinary people a fleeting chance to perceive Mushi. The moment is charged with quiet amazement, yet those familiar with Mushi brace for what will follow. Guided by a forecast from Tanyuu Karibusa, the afflicted recorder, Mushishi Ginko arrives in a farming settlement struck by misfortune. Soon after the eclipse, an unusual dark cloud forms and again obscures the sun. Concluding that a Mushi called Hihami may be responsible, Ginko works to free the community from an enduring shadow. As he pursues a remedy, he encounters villagers who are reluctant to abandon the altered twilight that has settled over their lives.
