Synopsis

After his family dies in a car accident, Taiyou Asano withdraws from those around him and grows distant from childhood friend Mutsumi Yozakura, who insists she will remain by his side. He becomes awkward and isolated at school despite classmates' attempts to reach him. One day the vice principal menaces Taiyou with lethal intent; a stranger intervenes and Taiyou later wakes to find himself with Mutsumi and her siblings. They are a family of spies endowed with enhanced abilities, whose duty is to safeguard Mutsumi as the ordinary human chosen each generation to head the household. The eldest son, Kyoichiro Yozakura, who had posed as the vice principal, regards Taiyou as a danger to Mutsumi’s safety. Bound by a family rule that forbids killing anyone within the clan, the only way to ensure both their protection is marriage. Though hesitant, Taiyou accepts the arrangement and begins training as a Yozakura operative, adapting to a life of surveillance and combat to defend both Mutsumi and himself from ongoing threats.
