Synopsis

Months after the Jewel Seed affair, Nanoha Takamachi prepares for Fate Testarossa’s return from Administrative Bureau detention; Fate has been granted conditional leniency allowing her to attend school with Nanoha. Before they can resume ordinary life, a band of shadowy mages attacks. Overwhelmed, both girls have their magical energy siphoned into a dark grimoire, and their device-weapons—Raising Heart and Bardiche—sustain damage. The assailants are the Wolkenritter: Vita, Signum, Shamal and Zafira, who were summoned by the Book of Darkness to carry out its will. The book’s current guardian is a young girl named Hayate Yagami, unaware of the book’s malignant intent, while the Wolkenritter, replenishing their strength with the stolen mana, pursue the tome’s completion. Stripped of power and weapons, Nanoha and Fate must rebuild their strength and confront the Wolkenritter before the Book of Darkness is finished and its destructive magic can be unleashed.
