Synopsis

After a devastating war with the giant Zentradi, remnants of humanity travel toward the galactic core aboard the Macross Frontier, where daily life resumes as the prior enemy fades from immediate concern. In 2059, trainee mecha pilot Alto Saotome and his squad prepare to escort the renowned singer Sheryl Nome during a public concert. Mid-performance, a biomechanical alien species called the Vajra breaches the vessel’s defenses and crash-lands near the venue, throwing the urban area into turmoil. As crowds flee, a young attendee, Ranka Lee, becomes isolated and is targeted by the Vajra; Alto intervenes and rescues her at the last moment. Observing his combat aptitude during the incident, the Strategic Military Services recruit Alto to help confront the emergent extraterrestrial menace.
