Synopsis

A coalition's attempted invasion collapses due to logistical failures that produce severe casualties. Despite being outmatched, Fleet Admiral Lazar Lobos refuses retreat and concentrates the remaining ships in the Amritsar Starzone to make a last stand against the approaching imperial counteroffensive. Commanding the imperial armada, the strategic prodigy Fleet Admiral Reinhard von Lohengramm approaches the engagement with a clear numerical and operational edge. Facing him is Vice Admiral Yang Wen-li of the coalition, a commander renowned for turning the shortcomings of his superiors into tactical opportunities; he engineers a risky withdrawal that preserves himself and some of his forces. Both leaders find the battle’s result unsatisfying—Reinhard because victory fell short of perfection, Yang because the cost in lives was unbearably high—yet neither can linger on the field: simmering political upheaval within both camps demands their attention and threatens to shape the next phase of the conflict.
