Synopsis

After a disjointed performance at the Kanto Region Traditional Japanese Music Festival, the Tokise High School Koto Club — including Chika Kudou, Satowa Houzuki, Takezou Kurata, Hiro Kurusu, Kouta Mizuhara, Saneyasu Adachi, and Michitaka Sakai — must confront the disappointment of a poor result. Despite feeling crushed, the members acknowledge their capabilities and commit to rigorous collective practice to address their weaknesses and raise the quality of their playing in preparation for the winter national qualifiers. With Suzuka Takinami now cooperating as the club advisor, they systematically learn core musical principles, polish their koto technique, and increase the frequency of performances to gain essential experience. Their progress, however, is complicated by external competition from strong rival schools and by internal high school realities: emerging romances, impending graduations, and the pressures these bring to the group's cohesion and future. The series follows the club’s disciplined efforts to develop musically while navigating interpersonal challenges and the uncertain prospects of sustaining the koto club.
