Synopsis

Koyomi Araragi is a solitary, cynical high schooler whose friendship with classmate Tsubasa Hanekawa begins to lift his spirits. One night he finds a fragile, dismembered woman barely alive and, after initial hesitation, exchanges his life for hers by allowing her to feed on his blood. He awakens to discover he has been transformed into a near-immortal by the vampire Kiss-Shot Acerola-Orion Heart-Under-Blade. With guidance from Meme Oshino, a specialist in supernatural anomalies, Koyomi learns that restoring Kiss-Shot’s full power requires recovering the three vampire hunters who took her limbs. Driven to regain his former mortality, he sets out to confront those who hold her fragments. As he pursues this goal he faces not only violent opponents but also the deeper trial of maintaining his own sense of humanity amid the changes imposed on him.
