Synopsis

After surviving a deadly push during a blizzard, Masayuki Muroi owes his life to a mysterious snow spirit who rescues him in exchange for payment. A decade later he appears to have rebuilt his life—wealth, marriage—but a business collapse and his wife’s betrayal drive him back to the remote town where the spirit once spared him. He renews their arrangement with money and food, but when his ex-wife is discovered murdered, only the spirit—unable to make her presence known—can confirm his whereabouts. With official suspicion closing in, the snow spirit turns to Kotoko Iwanaga, a revered mediator among supernatural beings known for her sharp intellect. Charged with preventing conflicts between humans and spirits, Kotoko, accompanied by her immortal partner Kurou Sakuragawa, undertakes a discreet investigation to clear Masayuki’s name while keeping the spirit’s existence concealed.
