Synopsis

Youkai live unnoticed among people, mostly harmless but sometimes threatening the fragile balance between the supernatural and humanity. Kotoko Iwanaga, who accepted the role of their God of Wisdom, mediates conflicts and handles paranormal incidents. At a hospital she seeks out Kurou Sakuragawa, a university student recovering from a painful breakup; Kotoko, who feels affection for him and senses something unusual beneath his ordinary exterior, invites him to aid her with youkai matters. Two years later, an idol's death under falling steel beams makes headlines, and subsequent reports describe a faceless woman wielding a steel beam. Kotoko and Kurou investigate to stop the spirit before it causes more harm, confronting a case that grows increasingly ominous and intimately connected to their world.
