In Fuyuki City an age-old contest unfolds in which seven magi invoke legendary spirits to fight as their servants for a prize that can fulfill any desire. Now in its fifth incarnation, the conflict sets a young magus, Rin Toosaka, on a path to carry on her father’s role. Expecting to call forth Saber, the most esteemed servant class, Rin’s ritual goes awry and she instead brings forth Archer. The description follows her attempt to confront the consequential battles and challenges that arise from that unexpected summoning, while maintaining the tense, ritual-bound atmosphere of the Holy Grail War.
