Synopsis

Two experienced magi, Rin Toosaka and Luviagelita Edelfelt, are assigned to locate seven Class Cards—ancient relics that hold the essences of famed Heroic Spirits. To accomplish this, each mage receives a sentient Kaleidostick, Ruby and Sapphire, which can transform their bearer into a powerful magical girl and amplify their abilities. Bitter relations between the two magi lead the Kaleidosticks to abandon them and seek different users. The sticks encounter Illyasviel von Einzbern and Miyu, two schoolgirls, and form contracts with them instead. Now armed with newfound transformation magic and the duty to recover the scattered Class Cards, Illya and Miyu begin their quest to retrieve those artifacts while adapting to their altered lives and responsibilities.
