Synopsis

After a major foe has been vanquished, Gokuu Son and his allies enjoy tranquility on Earth. Far away in the cosmos, Beerus, a God of Destruction, emerges from a prolonged sleep haunted by visions of a being called the Super Saiyan God. Accompanied by his attendant Whis, Beerus sets out to locate this fabled fighter, driven by a desire to test himself against a worthy rival. Learning that the Saiyan homeworld no longer exists, he narrows his search to the surviving Saiyans on Earth and zeroes in on Gokuu. Unfamiliar with the Super Saiyan God except through myth, Gokuu and his friends summon the Eternal Dragon Shen Long to learn the truth, only to find the dragon intimidated by Beerus. Once they uncover the means to attain that ancient form, Gokuu confronts Beerus in a fierce duel whose scale places the planet itself at grave risk.
