Synopsis

Ciel Phantomhive, a thirteen-year-old noble serving Queen Victoria, is dispatched to probe a string of peculiar fatalities in southern Germany. Victims from several villages entered a place known as the Werewolves' Forest shortly before developing bizarre deformities and dying, prompting locals to attribute the events to an old witch legend. Skeptical of supernatural explanations, Ciel and his demonic contract servant Sebastian Michaelis travel with the Phantomhive household staff to a remote settlement within the forest. There they find an all-female community that treats outsiders with hostility and revolves around a young girl called Sieglinde Sullivan—nicknamed the Green Witch—whose emerald eyes and bound feet mark her as central to local belief. As Ciel and Sebastian pursue a rational inquiry into the deaths, both begin to experience the forest's effects themselves, forcing them to confront whether the folklore hides a deeper reality.
