Synopsis

A solitary mercenary haunted by a traumatic upbringing, Guts moves from conflict to conflict, cutting down formidable foes with an oversized blade. After a confrontation, he encounters the enigmatic Griffith and the Band of the Hawk; following their clash, Griffith enlists Guts, offering him an unprecedented sense of connection. Alongside the capable Casca, Guts aids Griffith in elevating the band’s reputation, while Griffith becomes entangled in assassination attempts and political maneuvering. Exploiting Guts’ lack of personal goals, Griffith advances his own ambitions using the swordsman’s skill. Though Guts draws nearer to Casca, his uncertainty about his own purpose prevents him from feeling fully rooted. Divergent aims take hold among them, and while Guts and Casca strive toward Griffith’s vision, emerging rifts among the three threaten to unsettle the life they have built.
