Synopsis

In 2039, accelerating sea level rise destabilizes human society while a hostile force of warship-like entities known as the Fleet of Fog patrols the oceans, cutting off communication and movement between regions. Conventional arms prove ineffective against these adversaries. Gunzou Chihaya, commanding the friendly Fog I-401 submarine Iona, represents humanity’s best chance to confront the Fleet. Under government orders, Gunzou and his Blue Steel crew undertake a high-stakes mission to transport the Vibration Torpedo Warhead—humanity’s remaining potential countermeasure—through perilous, enemy-controlled waters to the United States for mass production. Despite operating within a violent conflict, Blue Steel seeks a peaceful outcome and maintains their principles while executing the delivery and other duties amid difficult circumstances.
