Synopsis

A band of privateers called Blue Steel carries secret designs for a Vibration Warhead Torpedo that could shift the balance of the war to the United States. Their mission encounters a new menace when the Fleet of Fog dispatches the Student Council, a contingent of warships represented by the remaining Mental Models—humanoid embodiments of the vessels—who have yet to contend with the unpredictable Blue Steel captain, Gunzou Chihaya. As the group probes deeper into who or what commands their adversaries, Iona’s history emerges, clarifying her role in the conflict and the reasons she chooses to stand with humanity.
