Synopsis

Mikoto Misaka and her companions resume their inquiries across Academy City, following reports of disturbing activity. During their investigation, Mikoto uncovers a chilling truth: large-scale experiments are being conducted that result in the deaths of thousands of espers. Even more shocking, those victims are genetic copies of Mikoto herself. Burdened by a sense of responsibility for their plight, she resolves to stop the atrocities. In doing so she encounters opposition far more formidable than she had expected, facing some of the city's most powerful espers. The series continues the Railgun’s narrative as she fights to halt the inhuman research, her struggles drawing her into deeper despair while Academy City remains rife with constant, often grim, conflict.
