Synopsis

Yuusuke Urameshi, a 14-year-old troublemaker with little hope for the future, unexpectedly sacrifices himself to protect a child from an oncoming vehicle. His selfless act is so unforeseen that the spirit world’s officials hesitate to release him. Koenma, the spirit realm’s heir, presents Yuusuke with a path back to life: complete assigned missions under the supervision of the guide Botan and serve as a Spirit Detective tasked with suppressing malevolent forces on Earth. To face these supernatural dangers, Yuusuke recruits his former rival Kazuma Kuwabara along with two demons, Hiei and Kurama, both carrying checkered histories. Together they undergo training and confront a succession of adversaries whose actions endanger humanity.
