Synopsis

Daisuke Higashida, a conscientious freshman at Higashizaka High School, endures a quiet but strained domestic life where laughter is absent and he feels emotionally drained. His routine is disrupted when his father’s business collapses, eliminating the funds that once covered his allowance, phone service, and transit costs. Pressed by his family's financial collapse and a directive from his father to earn money, Daisuke chooses employment at a nearby family-style restaurant to avoid a daily 15-kilometer bicycle commute to school. The situation forces him to balance school responsibilities, the demands of work, and the emotional weight of his household's changing circumstances.
