Synopsis

Souta Takanashi, drawn to small and endearing things, accepts a job at Wagnaria, a family-style restaurant in Hokkaido, after being persuaded by the diminutive Popura Taneshima. He takes particular pleasure in looking after Popura, which complicates her own worries about appearing younger than she is. On his first days, Takanashi encounters a group of coworkers whose unusual traits keep the workplace unpredictable: Yachiyo Todoroki, the floor chief who carries a katana; Jun Satou, the stern head chef; Hiroomi Souma, the sous chef with a calm yet subtly sadistic edge and an abundance of knowledge; Kyouko Shirafuji, the manager with a pronounced habit of idleness; and Mahiru Inami, a waitress who reacts painfully to men due to her fear. Driven by this offbeat ensemble, the series portrays the everyday life at Wagnaria as a steady stream of comedic situations, interpersonal quirks, and lively workplace episodes, maintaining a lighthearted and playful tone throughout.
