Synopsis

Haruka Sakura grew up isolated because of his unusual looks and poor social skills, becoming hardened and skilled in combat as a result. At Furin High, a place where physical strength is reputed to matter more than academics, his singular ambition is to reach the highest rank. On the eve of enrollment he is involved in a street fight and encounters several classmates who later join him at school. Rather than rejecting him, they stand and fight alongside him, revealing that the school's students prioritize protecting the nearby town of Makochi and thus identify as 'Bofurin.' Confronted with unexpected support and gratitude from both peers and residents, Sakura struggles to accept kindness. As the group faces stronger opponents, he is forced to move beyond his discomfort and, having tasted acceptance, begins defending others for reasons beyond his own pride.
