Synopsis

After a four-year conflict ends and the divided continent of Telesis begins tentative recovery, Violet Evergarden emerges from the war physically wounded and emotionally uncertain. Trained from childhood to fight, she survives a devastating engagement but returns with injuries and a single set of words from the person she cherished, words whose significance she cannot yet grasp. As she heals, Violet leaves her new guardian family and takes a post at CH Postal Services. There she encounters the work of Auto Memory Dolls—professionals who capture clients’ inner thoughts and feelings and render them into written form. Deeply affected by this craft, Violet undertakes training as an Auto Memory Doll. Through this work, she becomes involved in the intimate lives of those she serves, confronting diverse emotions and stories that challenge her understanding and guide her toward personal insight and recovery.
