Synopsis

A wounded stranger is discovered in the forest by Eruruu and brought into her household. With no memory of who he was and unable to recall even his own name, the family assigns him the name Hakuoro. Unlike the villagers, who bear prominent ears and tails, he lacks those features entirely and wears a mask that cannot be removed. As he settles into village life and forms bonds with Eruruu, her grandmother, and her sister Aruruu, a rebellion against the land's oppressive emperor erupts. The uprising reaches the village, forcing Hakuoro to defend the people he has come to care for while he seeks to unravel the enigmatic history that surrounds him.
